I just wanted to share some photos that Maddy Lapointe was doing for her Red River Creative Communications course. As part of the course entry requirements, applicants must create a photo essay of something that is meaningful. Her focus was "Family Roots" and she created the following photos to reflect her topic.
Maddy was a student in the Grade 12 photography course during semester 1. During that time, she created a creative blog that highlighted her photography. Check it out at the following link: http://madelainelapointe.blogspot.ca/
Awesome stuff.

An interesting viewpoint as her grandma "holds" the sign that bears the family last name.
This letter art photo makes up Maddy's last name "Lapointe". She used reference images that were found entirely in the family's hometown in Quebec.
An old photograph is held up to show the house her grandma grew up in. Maddy then went to Quebec and matched up the house and the photo to create a wonderful effect.
The frame inside a frame effect with her grandma, then her dad and finally Maddy in the last frame.
A tilt shift effect was added to this photo as she was coming down a ski lift. A neat shot from an interesting angle.
